The winners of 9th Hot Sake Award has just been announced!
This is only Sake event focuses on hot Sake.
The concept of this event is to select the best hot Sake in the year. The various drinking temperature makes Sake unique to other alcohols. The ancient documents tell us the habit of drinking Sake hot was already prevalent in the 7th century.
Hot Sake increases its umami and melts the fat of food and bring the excellent characteristic out.
However, people started to misunderstand that low-grade Sake is suitable for hot Sake, but high-grade Sake is not ideal for hot Sake due to the boom of chilled sake in the 1980s.
There is a lot of high-grade Sake which transforms its taste and goes to another dimension by heating up. This competition has just started to spread and reconfirm how fantastic hot Sake is.
