Collection: SHIKISHIMA BACK IN THE GAME

Founded in 1788, the renowned Sake “Shikishima” has been a distinguished presence among the many breweries in Kamezaki. However, in 2000, after 212 years of operation, it faced closure due to the declining demand for Sake. The current ninth-generation head, Yu Ito, was inspired by the death of his grandfather to feel a strong sense of duty to carry on the tradition that had been passed down since the Edo period. In a bold and seemingly reckless move, he left his corporate job to pursue the path of sake brewing. As a result of his daring challenge, he successfully revived the Shikishima brewery in Kamezaki.
